TiviMate Setup Guide for Android TV and Fire TV

TiviMate is a popular IPTV player for Android TV and Fire TV, known for a clean TV-style guide that feels like a traditional set-top box. It is designed for big screens and is controlled comfortably with a remote.

TiviMate is a player only; it has no channels of its own. You add your provider's details and it builds the channel list and guide. A free version covers the basics, and a paid premium upgrade unlocks extra features such as multiple playlists, recording and more customisation.

Before you start

• An Android TV, Google TV or Fire TV device with enough free storage.
• Your Xtream Codes login or M3U link, plus the EPG link if supplied separately.
• A stable internet connection; the first load downloads a lot of data.

Install TiviMate from the official app store on your device. On some newer Fire TV models that run Amazon's Vega OS rather than Android-based Fire OS, Android apps may not be available, so check before buying a device specifically for TiviMate.

Adding your playlist

1. Open TiviMate and select "Add playlist".
2. Choose the type: "Xtream Codes login" or "M3U playlist".
3. Enter your details. For Xtream, the server address, username and password. For M3U, the full link.
4. Confirm the channel count TiviMate shows, then select "Next".
5. Add the EPG source if it is not detected automatically.
6. Choose "Done" and wait for the guide to load.

Organising channels

TiviMate shines when you tidy your list. In Settings, under Playlists, you can hide entire groups you never watch, which makes the guide much quicker to browse. Long-press a channel to add it to favourites, and create your own groups to collect your most-watched channels together. Our guide to favourites and channel groups has more ideas.

Settings that make a difference

• Playback, then Decoder: leave on hardware decoding; switch to software only for a channel with problems.
• Playback, then AFR (auto frame rate): matches output frame rate to the stream, reducing judder on supported devices.
• EPG, then Update: set automatic updates once a day.
• EPG, then Time shift: fix listings that are an hour off.
• General, then Start on boot: open TiviMate automatically when the device starts, for a set-top box feel.
• Security: add a PIN to settings or specific groups.

Troubleshooting TiviMate

• Channels will not play. Check the account has not expired and no other device is using your last connection.
• Guide missing for some channels. This is normal for a few; for many, update the EPG.
• Slow on a Fire TV Stick. Hide unused groups and clear storage. Older sticks can struggle with very large lists.

Does TiviMate work on iPhone?

TiviMate is designed for Android TV and Fire TV, not iOS. On Apple devices, choose a player from the App Store.

Is TiviMate premium required?

No. The free version plays your playlist with a guide. Premium adds extras such as recording and multiple playlists.

Can I use TiviMate on several TVs?

Yes, within your plan's device limit for simultaneous viewing.
