IPTV Smarters Pro Setup Guide: Step by Step

IPTV Smarters Pro is one of the most widely used IPTV player apps. It supports both Xtream Codes and M3U logins, runs on many devices and separates live TV, films and series into clear sections.

Like every player app, Smarters does not include any channels. It is a tool for displaying the service you subscribe to. Once logged in with your provider's details, it gives you a guide, catch-up on supported channels, favourites and parental controls.

Installing the app

Availability in official app stores varies by device and changes over time. Search the official store on your device first: Google Play on Android phones and Android TV, the Apple App Store on iPhone, iPad and Apple TV, or the Amazon Appstore on Fire TV. Only install from official stores or the developer's official website, and avoid copies shared through unknown links, which may contain malware.

Logging in with Xtream Codes

1. Open the app and accept the terms if asked.
2. Choose "Login with Xtream Codes API".
3. Enter any name for the profile, such as "Home".
4. Enter your username and password exactly as supplied.
5. Enter the server URL including http:// and the port number.
6. Select "Add user" and wait for channels, films and series to download.

Getting around the app

The home screen shows tiles for Live TV, Movies, Series and Catch-up. Inside Live TV, channels are grouped into categories on the left. The "Install EPG" or "Refresh EPG" option downloads the TV guide. The multi-screen option on some versions lets you watch more than one channel at once, but remember each counts towards your device limit.

Settings worth changing

• Player selection. Try the built-in player first. If streams stutter, switch to another option in settings.
• Stream format. Some versions offer "MPEGTS" or "HLS". If one buffers, try the other.
• Time format and EPG offset. Correct these if guide times look wrong.
• Parental control. Set a PIN and lock categories you do not want children to access.
• Automatic updates. Enable automatic refresh of channels and EPG on start-up if available.

Common errors and fixes

• "Invalid credentials". Recheck capitals and look-alike characters in the username and password.
• Stuck on "downloading live channels". Restart the app. On devices with little storage, clear cache or free up space.
• Movies load but live TV does not. Try a different stream format or player in settings.
• Guide empty. Use Refresh EPG and give it a few minutes.

Keeping it running smoothly
