Xtream Codes Login Explained: Server, Username and Password

An Xtream Codes login is a way of signing in to an IPTV service using three pieces of information: a server address, a username and a password. It is often simpler to type than a long M3U link.

The name comes from a system many IPTV providers use to manage accounts. For you as a viewer, what matters is that it is supported by most major player apps and usually gives a neater experience, with live TV, films and series separated into their own sections.

The three parts of the login

Server URL

This is the address of the service, usually starting with http:// and often ending with a port number after a colon, such as :8080. The port is part of the address and must be included exactly as provided.

Username

Your account name. It is often case-sensitive, so capital letters matter.

Password

Your account password, also case-sensitive. Watch out for characters that look alike, such as a capital I and a lower-case l.

Where to enter it

In most apps, look for an option labelled "Login with Xtream Codes API", "Xtream" or "Add user". You will see fields for a name (anything you like), the username, the password and the server URL.

1. Choose the Xtream option when adding a new account or playlist.
2. Give the profile a name such as "Living room".
3. Enter username and password exactly as supplied.
4. Enter the server URL including http:// and the port number.
5. Save and let it load. The app will download live channels, the guide and on-demand sections.

Fixing login errors

• "Invalid credentials" or "authorisation failed". Recheck the username and password for capital letters and look-alike characters.
• "Cannot connect to server". Check the server URL, the http:// at the start and the port number at the end. Do not add a slash or spaces.
• "Account expired". Your plan may need renewing, or the app may be holding old data. Refresh the account after renewing.
• "Maximum connections reached". Too many devices are watching at once. Close the app on another screen.

Keep your login safe

Treat your Xtream details like any other password. Sharing them can push your account over its device limit and may lead to suspension. If you think someone else has your details, contact your provider to have them changed.

Should the server URL start with http or https?

Use exactly what your provider gives you. Changing it will usually stop the connection working.

Can I use the same login on several apps?

Yes, but only the number of devices in your plan can watch at the same time.

Why does the app ask for a "name"?

It is just a label for the profile on that device. It does not affect the login.
